In Gemmayzeh, Beirut, Maison Zola is a space where design, materiality and light define a refined contemporary atmosphere. Lighting designer Rodrigue Mhanna develops the project through a careful balance of architectural proportions, tactile surfaces and luminous rhythm. In the double-height space, Nuvem Indoor Velvet by Slamp becomes a central presence.
To enhance the generous ceiling height without weighing down the architecture, Nuvem Indoor Velvet is used as a suspended modular system, whose fluid profile creates visual continuity throughout the space. Its soft, irregular geometry creates a contrast with the rich materiality of the interiors.

The modular nature of Nuvem allows the installation to follow the scale and proportions of Maison Zola, developing freely across the ceiling rather than behaving like a traditional pendant lamp. In the Velvet finish, its surface interacts with the warm light of the space, creating depth, shadows and reflections.

At Maison Zola, light becomes part of the architectural language rather than simply a functional element. The suspended composition of Nuvem Indoor Velvet visually connects the restaurant’s different volumes and creates a balanced rhythm across the dining areas.
