The Avia installation project at Radio Globo studios enhances a dedicated lounge area located between the radio station’s recording rooms, conceived as a space for pause, interaction and transition for hosts, guests and editorial staff.
At the heart of the project is Avia, the lighting installation designed by Zaha Hadid, selected to define the space through a sculptural and fluid presence. Its suspended, organic forms interact with the architecture of the studio, shaping a distinctive atmosphere within the operational flow of a contemporary broadcast environment.
The installation interprets the lounge as a transitional space between live recording sessions, where comfort, visual identity and spatial quality converge. Light becomes a central design element, enhancing the environment without interfering with the technical requirements of the adjacent production areas.
The Avia project for Radio Globo demonstrates how architectural lighting design can contribute to the creation of functional and expressive spaces even within complex professional contexts such as radio broadcasting, reinforcing both the daily experience of the studio and its overall visual identity.
