Slamp is pleased to announce that they’ve won second place for the 2019 MOD.MONTECARLO PRIZE in the category of International Designer. The prize recognises exceptional design as a result of an international collaboration.
Certain criteria brought Slamp to the podium: their efforts to improve social and climatic sustainability, their use of innovative materials and technology, and their genius ability to combine art and design within environmentally friendly, and aesthetically unique, long-lasting products. Slamp’s clean manufacturing practices, and the products’ aesthetic, ergonomic, and functional qualities were deciding factors in winning the award.
The Principality of Monaco is no stranger to strong environmental politics and sustainability, and the MDO.MONTECARLO 2019 international prize saw a vast selection of participating companies; to be precise, 52 hailing from 12 countries, all operating in the fields of environmental sustainability, technological innovation, and of course, product design.
The jury included architects Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Mario Botta, and Richard England, Nicolas Roche of Roche Bobois, Patrice Pastor of J.B. Pastor & Fils, and Cesare Maria Casati, director of Arca International.
