Costa Smeralda is the 16th Costa Cruise liner, taking to the European fleet October, 2019. The ship is an homage to Italian culture and beauty, and offers a visual journey through the peninsula it represents.
The Costa Smeralda boasts the first floating Italian Design Museum, created by the ship’s creative director, Adam Tihany, and Matteo Vercelloni, professor of Design History at Milan’s Politecnico.
The CoDe “Costa Design Collection” is dedicated to items, furnishing, fashion collections and artisan objects representing the Made in Italy brand; Slamp is amongst these, with Zaha Hadid’s Aria architectural suspension, handcrafted with high-tech materials. The world renowned architect left her unmistakable mark on this extraordinary lamp.
The ship’s never-ending exhibition visits numerous ports, hosting over 5.000 visitors a week, up to 300.000 visitors a year, hailing from all over the world. Guests live the Made in Italy brand first-hand, enriched by some of Europe’s most breathtaking sea views.
