Poland’s arena DESIGN is the apex where designers and manufacturers join together to explore and celebrate current design trends. The 10th edition, running from March 6th to 9th, explores the theme of ‘Generations’, asking participants to address design and business relations that appeal to varying target audiences.
Studio Job’s The Lightning Archives Collection for Slamp is on display within lighting designer Malgorzata Ratajcza’s VIVA Light installation. The iconic tubes, dressed in Job’s archetypal yet groovy patterns, are perfect against the backdrop of Szymon Brodziak’s black and white photography.
On March 7th, Slamp’s Creative Director, Luca Mazza and Job Smeets, of Studio Job, will meet with design historian and critic, Mrs. Krystyna Luczak-Surowka, to reflect on the creation of the collection, and discuss what it takes for designers and manufacturers to successfully collaborate together.
Mazza, accustomed to curating every aspect of the brand’s image and product line, sniffs out collaborations that prove to be both innovative and challenging for all, integrating diverse ideas with Slamp’s culture of sustainable methods and materials. Smeet’s emphatic attention to repetition and passion for pop culture resulted in the revival of the brand’s beginnings: the Tube.
