Slamp celebrated its first 25 years with an exclusive party in their new 8.000 sq. m. headquarters just outside of Rome. Construction ended in the spring, and the new manufacturing site with offices and showrooms, was finally opened to international guests, clients, partners, institutions and friends this past September 8, 2019.
“La Via della Luce” tours were an essential part of the evening; guests witnessed the genesis of a lamp, as well as the complete manufacturing process, firsthand, from prototype development to digital printing, moving on to different cutting techniques applied to the technopolymers and viable waste reuse and recycling. The itinerary visited the assembly lines where the ladies who “tailor” light demonstrated the handcrafted approach that creates best-sellers Clizia and Veli, as well as one of the newest collections, Nuvem, designed by Portuguese Architect Miguel Arruda, and unveiled during the 2019 Salone del Mobile.
Just before DJ Thomas Constantin, premiere star of Milan’s Plastic, kicked off his set, guests gathered around Slamp’s founder and president Roberto Ziliani to view “Slamp25”, a short filmed directed by Federico Zanotti that traced benchmarks of this very Italian company’s rise to success, not only because of unprecedented innovation and aesthetic originality, but the energy and empathy of the people who keep it steadily growing.
From local institutions to the Regione Lazio, Federlegno and Confindustria, designers and architects that make up the ample Slamp family, to fashion and entertainment personalities including Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi and actor Stefano Masciarelli, over 500 guests were greeted by the Board of Directors, including Ziliani, and shareholders Teresa Martinelli, Luca Mazza (Creative Director), and Erika Martino (Marketing Director).
