SLAMP ILLUMINATES SPOLETO’S FESTIVAL DEI DUE MONDI

27 Juni - 2022

OVER 17 DAYS, MORE THAN 60 PERFORMANCES BY 500 ARTISTS HAILING FROM 36 COUNTRIES: THE FESTIVAL LIGHTS UP SPOLETO, AND SLAMP ILLUMINATES THE UMBRIAN CITY WITH LAFLEUR AND BACH.

Spoleto Festival del Due Mondi

Slamp is partners with the Fondazione Carla Fendi, both participants of Spoleto’s Festival dei Due Mondi. Icons LaFleur and Bach illuminate spaces throughout the event, bringing timeless elegance within the Umbrian town’s Medieval walls.

In 1956, Gian Carlo Menotti announced that this city steeped in the tradition of theatrical performance would be the birthplace of the Festival dei Due Mondi. June 5, 1958 saw the first edition, with Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth directed by Luchino Visconti, set and costuming by Piero Tosi, and the orchestra directed by Maestro Thomas Schippers. Much has changed since then, apart from the passion and dedication defining the festival.

The 65th edition, directed by Monique Veaute, spans classical, contemporary, and experimental music genres, with a kermess of over 60 performances. Music, dance, theater, and art is joined by conferences, installations, exhibitions, and film viewings. Slamp’s years-long collaboration with the Fondazione Carla Fendi led them to placing 40 poetically delicate LaFleur within the piazza del duomo, illuminating tables in the lounge with a flurry of petals, and 36 slender, refined Bach lushly grace the rooms within Palazzo Racani Arroni for the duration of the events.

Fondazione Carla Fendi’s President Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi is placing a strong emphasis on science and technology as inevitable and powerful interpretive vehicles concerning communication and comprehension of the current, and future, state of the arts.
